Windermere is in the centre of the English Lake District and can be easily reached from the M6 junction 36 and by then following the A591.

The nearest mainline railway station is Oxenholme at Kendal. Windermere has its own station, it is linked to Oxenholme by an hourly train service and is only a few minutes walk away.

 

 

 

 

Fir Trees is within easy walking distance of:

Windermere & Bowness villages. Lake Windermere & the steamers. Numerous restaurants & pubs serving delicious food for all tastes & prices. Exhibitions, theatre and cinema.

However within a few minutes walk of all these you are in open countryside. The 'glorious' English Lake District is literally on our doorstep.
