Home from Home-
Me and my fiancé stayed at the Fir Trees Guest House for a weekend away in Windermere and I am so glad we chose this place to stay! We arrived early and were welcomed by a very friendly lady (Vikki) who could not have been more helpful. She showed us to our room (Room 3) which was beautiful. Vikki then brought my partner some chocolate as it was his birthday which I thought was extremely thoughtful. The room was well decorated, clean and very comfy. Me and my partner normally struggle with back issues in new beds but this was so comfy we slept soundly. The en suite bathroom was also spotless, the shower was powerful and they had provided toiletries. The guest house is also in a perfect location in between two towns and so there is plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops etc near-by. The lake is also very close which is lovely for walks, boat rides etc. Vikki also provided a voucher for us to use for the boats which was great. Breakfast in the morning was lovely! The breakfast room is very nice and the service is fab. Tim cooked our food and it was delicious. Even if you aren\'t a veggie I recommend the veggie breakfast as the veggie sausages are lovely!!! When we had finished our food we had a lovely chat with Vikki and Tim who are genuinely lovely people and extremely welcoming. Perfect place to stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

What a delightful experience.Perfect location approximately halfway between Windermere bus and train stations and Bowness. Beautifully appointed rooms with quality furniture and fittings reflecting the pride this family run business takes in caring for their guests. There was always a full bowl of fresh fruit by the front door as well as home made biscuits and slices for the guests to take with them as they left for a day of sightseeing. My partner and I stayed recently at the fir trees and we were not disappointed. Although we arrived very early we were great with a warm welcome from the owners Tim and Vicki. We were offered lovely homemade flapjack and cookies to take with us on our walk, which along with fresh fruit is placed in the hallway for guests. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice added touches. There was fresh milk and bottled water in a small fridge, a good selection of teas and more homemade flapjack. The breakfast was fantastic ( huge )with homemade hash browns, a good selection of cereals, pastries, yoghurt and a proper fresh fruit salad. The staff were also very attentive. This was our first stay at the fir trees but we will be back to stay again. Well done Tim, Vicki and team, keep up the good work.

Short stay at Fir Trees. -
Stayed two nights at this beautiful Guests House. On arrival Tim was waiting for us - he welcomed us, showed us our room, explained everything to us clearly - Windermere area etc. Generous breakfast included (hot and cold) in the morning. Free fresh fruit and local made biscuits by the front door for guests to take which we thought was very nice. Our room had tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge with fresh milk and bottle water (complimentary.) Tim and his lovely wife made us feel athome - a young and very friendly couple. This guest house is also in a good location - we walked to many places and loved the beautiful views of the lake, hills etc. We enjoyed our short stay at Fir Trees.

A lovely old Victorian building, furnished in keeping. New owners Vicky &Tim are making their mark on this guest house, e.g. a fridge in all rooms with fresh milk and bottled water. The flapjacks (and choc chip shortbread biscuits) are something else! Breakfast is varied with the excellent fryup and other choices cooked to order and well worth waiting for. There are also fruit juices, yoghurts, cereals and fruit. The tables all have spotless white linen tablecloths. If you leave here hungry, it\'s your own fault! 10 minutes walk either way gets you to Windermere (Town) or Bowness (Lake side - cruises etc.). This was our second visit and we will be back.

Fantastic Place, Fantastic Owners, Fantastic Location. -
We try and stop in Windermere as often as we can and have stayed in a number of different Bed and Breakfast Establishments. This is by far the best yet. A lovely young family run the Fir Trees and the love and pride they have in their B&B is plain to see. We stayed for 2 nights in May as I was taking part in a cycling event. I mentioned that i would need to leave at 5:30am on the Saturday. Tim (the owner) arranged the night before for a microwave, toaster, breakfast foods to be arranged so that we could have something to eat before we left ! Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, He even gave us the key to his garage so that we could store out bikes securely. We stayed here a few years ago before Tim and Vicky took over the Fir Trees. Its been painted and refurnished and looks fantastic, the Rooms are very clean, the breakfasts are AMAZING and everyday there are an arrangement of homemade Flapjacks and Biscuits in reception to tuck into. This place is a gem and we wish Tim and Vicky every success with the Fir Trees. They deserve it. We most certainly will be back. Thanks guys, Al and Gemma.

Well recomended -
Chose Fir Trees from the many available in Bowness/Windermere as we were meeting friends in the area. Booked online - quickly confirmed. Reveived a good welcome. Room was big, beds great, but bathroom was compact. Breakfast was amazingly good - &far too much to eat! Limited car parking at front, but can use drive way to vets at left hand side.

A lovely break -
Visiting Fir Trees for the second time mum myself and my son had a fabulous two night stay wish it could have been longer . We were made to feel so welcome in this beautifulguest house by Bob and Bea. Every where is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is excellent and well presented. Fir Trees is in a good location and we hope it is not to long before we return.

Bank Holiday Break -
This establishment is stunning &probably one of the best we have stayed in when we come to the Lake District. The room was spotless &very comfortable (possibly a wee bit tight as a Twin, but not a problem). Breakfast was lovely &on coming back from our day out, a lively surprise that our night clothes had been folded to look like parcels, nice sweet little touches made this place very special. We would definitely stay here again.Thank you.

Best B&B -
Fir Treesis one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in! They were so nice and accommodating, as we have 3 small boys. The family suite was just perfect for us. The breakfast was wonderful and delious! They also have the best location, being half way between the villages of Windermere and Bowness. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone traveling to the Lakes District. Thanks again Fir Trees for a wonderful stay!!

Brilliant again! -
Two nights in Room 7. A lovely room with some nicely added quality touches. One criticism would be the corner bath - takes a little getting used too! Otherwise all very clean throughout. Slept soundly and awoke refreshed.Breakfast is as good as you could wish for with a good selection on offer from cereals to fruits. From a full breakfast to special requirements all servedin a happy and generous way. Toast, jam and marmalade to complete the array on offer. All in all another wonderful stay and we hope to return ... as soon as work and our commitments elsewhere allow.

Lovely Weekend -
This is the third time we have stayed at The Fir Trees and we have never been disappointed, Bea and Bob make you feel welcome from the time you arrive to the time you leave, we have stayed in rooms 6 and 7, both are lovely clean comfortable rooms but I am sure all the rooms are to the same standard, the breakfast menu has plenty of choices and is beautifully cooked fresh to your liking. The location is perfect, you have the best of both worlds, 5 minute walk either way will see you in the centre of both were there are plenty of good restaurants. Hope to be back soon.

A last minute decision to have a night in the Lake District, so it wasn't easy finding a family room. As it turned out Fir Trees' was a perfect location, lovely house, excellent breakfast and friendly and relaxed hosts. We would definitely book again. ( Thomas Tank engine egg cup at breakfast impressed our 4 year old Thomas!)

Lovely place -
Really enjoyed our stay, thank you, and very friendly and lovely hosts. Only gripe is it would have been nice if my side of the bed had had a bedside table, also we had a lot of problems getting the toilet to flush. But really lovely and would definitely come again.

Fir Trees is a beautiful B&B and booking in advance is essential in order to secure a room. Our stay was wonderful. The room was a delight and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Bed was so comfortable it was a struggle to get out of it and breakfasts are hearty with lots of choice and cooked to your individual specification. With just a short walk to Bowness town the B&B location is just perfect. We will definitely stay again without question. Thank you.

I went to Windermere this May and stay at Fir Trees for 2 nights, the landlords are very nice persons and the English full breakfast they provided is so delicious. The room and the bathroom are tidy and clean, well-decorated that gives me a warm feeling of comfort.
